The Las Vegas Raiders struggled through an up and down season last year and many experts see the same for the 2021 season. The Silver and Black front office has combined in auspicious free agent signings with strange reach first round draft picks. Many are wondering if the 30-year-old Carr is safe if the Raiders’ do not have a successful season. Bragr toured the red zone in the spectacular new home of the Raiders and the question remains how often Carr and the offense will get there.
The Raiders front line is almost entirely new. Management sent off three starters and drafted Alex Leatherwood, a massive guard from Alabama, with a reach of a first round pick. Leatherwood will have to be good as he is thrown in to the starting lineup.
Another first round reach from the previous year, Henry Ruggs, will also be in the spotlight. Ruggs had a quiet first year but must convert as he will see a big increase in touches. Carr and Ruggs have connected in the off season but the chemistry has to be right for Ruggs to succeed.
On the other side of the ball, the Raiders’ defensive line projects to still be a work in progress. Fellow first round reach Clelin Ferrell has to start rushing the quarterback. Maxx Crosby figures to still be solid and free agent Yannick Ngakoue has to step up big time.
While Jon Gruden will always be a made man in Las Vegas, the same cannot be said for Carr. The Bragr App asks will this be Carr’s last year if the Raiders continue in mediocrity?
